Wind down of term 2

As the term winds down we launch into exams, marking and doing some prep for next term. It’s been another busy term, no cyclone admittedly.

However we have had a few days of torrential rain. The worst, overnight last Thursday.
I woke to cold drops on my face to discover rain leaking through the eastern side of our cottage. The same spot as during the cyclone. Greg was drenched and had only woken at my exclamation of the cold drips on my face.
We moved the bed went back to sleep deciding to deal with it in the morning.

Friday dawned and the rain continued for a couple of hours, long enough to cancel the afternoons rugby. The sun appeared for a while but rugby was planned for afternoon had been cancelled. The junior games were played Saturday. The fields at Atele were a mud bath but the 13A final was exciting, ultimately a win for Tupou. The ‘Firsts’ will play Tuesday afternoon. Again after heavy rain overnight it will be another wet track.

The Romeo and Juliet production moves forward slowly. Many boys know their lines so staging, costumes and sets are next. My older class are finishing To Kill a Mockingbird and preparing for exams. Quite a challenge, mostly the boys speak and understand only basic English and all exams are in English!

Twelve days 'til take off for Honolulu. There is light at the end of the tunnel and fresh fruit and vegetables also I hope.πŸ₯πŸ₯’πŸ‹πŸ“πŸ‡πŸŽπŸπŸŒπŸŒ½πŸ₯•
